The Prevention Training Program of The Consultation Center

The Prevention Training Program of The Consultation Center (TCC) provides training in the theory, design, implementation, and evaluation of community-based preventive interventions. The goal of the program is to enhance the capacity of professionals and organizations to deliver effective, high quality prevention programs to identified populations across the lifespan. Trainers in this series have extensive experience in prevention.

About the Program

Trainings are provided at NO CHARGE through funding provided by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Prevention Training Collaborative. The collaborative consists of The Consultation Center, the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut, and DMHAS.   

The Consultation Center is a cooperative endeavor of the Department of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine, The Consultation Center, Inc., and the Connecticut Mental Health Center and has provided prevention training, services and research for nearly 30 years.

Continuing Education: Continuing Education Credit (CEC) hours for all classes have been approved by the Connecticut Certification Board, Inc. Approved CEC hours from NASW/CT are noted on the training schedule. Other NASW/CT approvals are pending and will be updated when granted. Approved CEU hours from the State Board of Education are also noted (Provider No. 247).  

Inclement Weather: If there is an announcement that closes or delays the opening of State of Connecticut offices, all classes are automatically cancelled. If State of Connecticut offices are not closed or delayed, participants should call The Consultation Center, (203) 789-7645, ext. 139, to receive a personal or voice-mail message regarding the status of the training.
