Youth Leadership Opportunities in the Community
YDTRC seeks to connect as many young people as possible with leadership opportunities in their community. If you are a teenager looking for a way to make a difference and gain leadership skills along the way, we can help you find the right activities for your interests and skills. Whether you’re interested in working directly with YDTRC or with other organizations in the community, don’t hesitate to call. We’ll help you find what you’re looking for!
YDTRC currently offers the following leadership opportunities for teenagers:
- Become a youth presenter at our One-Day Workshop sessions (part of YDTRC's "Developing CT's Youth" workshop series)
- Run a workshop at the Annual Youth Forum
- Work with an adult advisor on a Youth Participation Mini Grant project
- Work at YDTRC as a School-to-Career Intern
- Become a member of a committee to plan a statewide or regional conference
We can also help young people link up to additional opportunities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Citywide Youth Coalition Advocacy Committee
- Greater New Haven Youth Philanthropy Project
- L.E.A.P.
- Teen Pregnancy Prevention Peer Education in New Haven
- United Teen Connection Telephone Hotline
- Youth: Ethics in Service (YES) through the School of Ethical Education
